Next November 13th you are invited to come to Barcelona to assist MIF ONSITE. Do you want to know who will be speaking?
Well, Mike Chambers, Lee Brimelow, Joan Garnet and Angel Blesa representing the Guasax team. You will be able to see in action real applications developed in Guasax and new advanced features of the framework which we are investigating, so don't forget it!

All information about the event is available in this madeinflex.com post

After long sunbathing during summer we have finally finished the guasax website, designed by our good friend Ricardo.

The main website aim is to centralize all guasax resources: documentation, examples, downloads, blog, videotutorials, etc, So if you want to have the complete information about this Flex framework, this is your website,

Don´t forget to visit it or periodically, because we try to update it with fresh meat. If you want to collaborate visit the collaborate section in the website.

We hope you find it helpful.

Greetings

We come back with an example in which we show how to guasax works with remote service over AMFPHP1.9. In the same way , this example works with Java remote services, but is more easy to test over PHP. In any case we will publish both examples, with Java and PHP.

In this example we show a program simulating a little shop. For this example we use the last version of guasax 0.9.4.a, in this version we did remove dependency with locale dir contain guasax message errors. Download the last version of guasax source code from here

- You can view MiniFlexStore application online here,
- View source code here.
- You can download entire flex project, ready for import in Flex Builder, from guasax downloads, here.
- You can download PHP code for remote services of this example from here, then copy this directory into 'services' directory of your AMFPHP distribution. For example ,
http://www.yourdomain.com/amfphp-1.9.beta.20070513/services.

You can get more info about AMFPHP1.9 , here, and download the version we used for this example from here.

In the next post (in a few days, coming soon) we will publish another example about CRUD operations with MDI windows, with Java Remote Services over GraniteDS Framework.

After the first Guasax HelloWorld example, we are going into a little more complex example in which we will show other ways to call the framework to execute an action, passing a view object to update it when the BO execution has finished.

Also, we will see how to work with a ModelLocator class, and how to pass objects of type Value Object to a Guasax action.

At the end of this article you will be able to find all the required links to download the source code, see it online (with ViewSource option enabled) and get the current guasax documentation.

In the same way as last example, we have recorded a 5 minutes lenght videotutorial (in Spanish) explaining the example.

After guasax presentation, we are going to start a series of tutorials showing different features provided by guasax when we are programming Flex/Apollo applications.

In this first tutorial, we’ll show the HelloWorld sample. Although this is a silly example we’ll be able to introduce a series of items necessaries to prepare any of our future guasax projects.
In the end of the tutorial you can find all necessaries resources to download the source code and view it online because viewSource option is enabled.

Guasax Flex Framework

After some weeks of work we are ready to present Guasax.

Guasax is a programming framework to develop Flex applications behing the model-view-controller paradigm.

With guasax we try to truly decouple presentation and data/business logic tiers proposing a way to carry on our Flex code organization around reusable components to simplify us the "what we have to program in each site and how we can invoke it" decission, mantaining a clearly-identifiable and even predictable code in a collaborative programming environment. On the other hand, guasax is minimally intrusive because our classes are totally reusable outside the framework.

Conceptually, guasax contributes to Flex with utilities and functionalities in the same way than Struts 2.0 does to web programming, so Struts and MVC frameworks developers are hoped to make themselves at home. In the same way, guasax has similarities with Cairngorm 2.1, mainly more in the problem to resolve than in the way to resolve.

For a more detailed introduction we have prepared this presentation

You can get info, source code, examples, wiki and more resources in guasax`s google code.Guasax is an open project
licensed under LGPL license.

Also we have created a website (development nearly finished. coming Soon...) and a blog fully focused to guasax, where you will find examples, real use cases, documentation, forums, etc.

Firstly, all resources in both googlecode and website will be available in English, but absolutely, all about written documentation, articles, tutorials, etc. will be available in Spanish too.

In next posts we are going to publish examples, from simplest to more complex, using fully FDS and resolving common problems during the development process and how guasax can carry on them.

We hope you found this information useful. We are glad to get your feedback.

Guasax team.

Welcome post

Welcome to the guasax flex framework , an engine to improve your Flex RIA applications.

We hope that you find this framework useful.

Stay tuned to guasax: New material coming soon.
